DM Food Recycling is based in Birmingham, and provides commercial food waste collection, food waste disposal, and food waste recycling for businesses across the West Midlands, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire.
We provide a friendly, reliable and flexible approach to suit operational requirements, with solutions that meet the specific needs of a wide range of businesses. These include: restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, retail and shopping centres, schools, offices, food manufacturers, catering companies, healthcare facilities, entertainment venues, and more.
Our customer base consists of direct customers, waste management brokers, other waste management companies, and local councils. We help businesses reduce their environmental footprint, achieve cost-effective waste management, and ensure food waste is collected efficiently, disposed of responsibly, and recycled effectively.
DM Food Recycling Ltd was established in April 2023 by managing directors Mark Phillips and Dave Berwick, along with company secretary Tony Veal. All three had previously worked together at Weir Waste Services Ltd, until its sale to Biffa Waste Services Ltd in 2018, when Mark, Dave, and others, set up Lyco Recycling Ltd - a company specialising in both food waste and glass collections from commercial premises.
In early 2023, Mark and Dave exchanged their shares in Lyco Recycling for the assets and trading activity of the food division, and with Tony onboard formed the now independent DM Food Recycling. Together the team have over 70 years combined knowledge of the waste and recycling industry.
In partnership with Severn Trent Green Power all waste food collected by DM Food Recycling is disposed of at one of their Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities. The waste food is used to generate green power for the National Grid, allowing our customers to contribute to the reduction of CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance their green credentials.
